Becoming A Member Of Direct Defence Krav Maga

Direct Defence Krav Maga is a membership club, and in order to train in our regular classes you must become a member. We do not offer pay-as-you-go training or drop-in classes.

Our adult membership is open to anyone over the age of 16 (under 18s need parental permission to train). All members also require a KMG training licence, which costs £39 per year, and can be obtained directly from KMG UK.

One Simple Membership

We offer a single, flat-rate membership for adults. Your membership gives you access to all of our regular classes, so you can train consistently and progress at your own pace.

We currently run 2 classes per week, and all members can attend as often or as little as they like.

  • Access to ALL our classes
  • Train up to 2 classes per week (currently)
  • Same monthly price even if more classes are added later

KMG Training Licence

KMG (Krav Maga Global) UK (our parent organisation) requires that all students training in a KMG club obtain a training licence from them. This is so they can keep track of who is training in which club and it also provides you with public liability insurance and personal accident protection. All DDKM students MUST obtain a training licence prior to joining and are required to renew it annually (KMG training licences must be obtained directly from KMG UK and cost £39 per year).

More information about KMG training licences can be found here: KMG Training Licences

Joining Fee

There is a one-time joining fee of £50 for all new memberships.

Minimum Term

All new memberships are taken on a minimum term of three months. This is the minimum amount of time required to see any physical benefits, develop any skill, and begin to understand the system, so if you can't commit to at least three month's training then there's not a lot of point starting.

After your initial three months are up you can cancel your membership at any time.

Training Equipment

To train Krav Maga effectively it's important that you have the correct training equipment. This is both for your own comfort and safety, and also to ensure you can take part in all aspects of training.

Below is a list of the essential equipment required by all Krav Maga practitioners:

  • Groin Protection
  • Mouth Guard
  • Boxing Gloves (12/14oz for women, 14/16oz for men)
  • Shin Guards

It's best to get your kit sorted as soon as possible to make sure you're equipped for all training sessions.

Although you can purchase equipment from anywhere you like (or you may already have your own) we recommend buying official KMG training equipment from the KMG UK shop.
